I am excited to announce that I "finally" picked a name for my Etsy shop. Since switching to Etsy patterns, I have been consuming every ounce of "helpful advice" that Etsy has provided, including podcasts. On a recent podcast, I listened to shop owners talk about why they chose the name they did. I was a bit jealous to not have a story...

So why Jittery Wings...

Well, I will tell you...and my shop name has a lot to say about me and my brand...

I am hyper. Never idle. ADHD. Anxious. But I also have an extremely rare neurological disorder called Tarlov Cysts that makes me twitch uncontrollably. I was once a potter, with commission pieces all over the southest. Once I received my diagnosis in February of 2016, I had to give up my one true artistic love. I never thought I would find a replacement. I tried knitting, welt felting, felting and then eventually sewing. Sewing...quilting in particular...was that artistic outlet that allowed me to "feel" my work the same way that pottery did. I was hooked. I found a way to make peace with the grieving process of lossing so much of what "defined" me as an artist, and I sold my pottery studio. I began work on building my dream sewing studio. I have that now! So, I am jittery.

Wings...well, I love that I have always innocently, blindly and stubbornly just flown straight toward my passions without ever believing I couldn't do them. While that has some natual consequences, nothing can stop me. I am free and unashamedly in flight; lost to the world of noise below me. Wings are graceful. Wings are elegant. Wings are free and structured and purposeful all at the same time.

My brand leans toward "whimsical elegrance" and "jittery wings" says that to me when matched together. I am very excited.

Please be sure to visit me on Facebook and "like" my page. I am building that up from scratch with my new Jittery Wings name. I plan to focus my shop on three product areas: quilts, bags and patterns. Please keep checking back, as I will be adding new items on a regular basis. I have also added commission options for each of these products. They make wonderful gifts.
