Charade Quilt Along Layout Week 7

Hey Quilty Friends!

Welcome to Week 7 of the Charade Quilt Along - only it is 2 weeks early because so many of you are working ahead and I wanted to give you the resources.

For those on schedule, please don’t let this feel like a rush. YOU do YOU!

For those just joining or feeling way behind, you set your own pace, and yep - YOU do YOU!

The goal is to make something, to spend time creating, and to allow the joy in.

Remember to press your seams open when you finish.

THANKS for being here! Remember to post progress shots on social media using #charadequilt and @jitterywings.

Tips and Tricks

Tip 1: It may take a couple of tries to get the layout you want. That’s okay, it is all part of the creative process.

Tip 2: Sort your blocks either by color group or lights, mediums, or dark. Then begin putting up one stack first and move into the next.

Tip 3: Work from the center out, top to bottom, side to side, or clumps of color groups.

Tip 4: Having a large surface where you can see it on a wall is most helpful for determining the layout. If you use the floor get yourself high to check it.

Tip 5: Walk away if you are feeling overwhelmed. Sleep on it. Ask someone to look at it. Take a picture to review - and - don’t be afraid to redo it. That is part of the improv process. When you do that - you are adding your own controls.
